How to save a space and be more productive
You might be thinking what space, right? Today I want to talk about heavy readers and people who study a lot, like me. Once you are addicted to studying there is no other way just to start collecting books. In some cases you might be fine borrowing them but in our field the books are most of the time guides which we use on daily bases. So here is the problem. During my studying I have been collecting various books (you can see most of them in my books section). There is more then 30 of them. It would not be a much problem if I have a house with a place dedicated to books but I don’t . I leave in “standard foreigners conditions in London” share house. We only have one room where we keep all our stuff. It is like been on a campus. So now the question comes. If I keep on getting more and more books where am I going to store them. The answer is simple but has been around for only for couple of weeks.
Sony Ereader

I bought one the first week when it came to UK. I was actually very surprised how many people knew about it. You could not get one in any store, all soled out, I went to five different stores across city. I had to order one online at the end.
How does it work?
You only need to install software which comes with it and buy ebooks online. Here comes a little problem. There is not that many technical books in native Sony ereader format but there is simple solution. You can buy books in PDF format and convert them. There is plenty of books in PDF. I have found all books I was interested in. The screen is just perfect, it is really like reading paper, there is no back light so your eyes do not get tired as they do when you read from computer screen.
Storage
You can store about 200 books and there are 2 memory slots available. One for Sony card one for SD. The best benefit for me is actually something else. It is the size and weight. I travel to work buy train and most of the time I read during the journey. Ereader is very light so I can hold it in one hand while standing. You can image the difference. Some of the books have 800 pages so there are pretty heavy in paper version.
Design
It is not Apple product even I wish it was. It is well designed. The buttons are placed in locations where you need them. The silver design is trendy and looks good. It also comes with brown leather case.
Platform
No idea why byt the software which comes with the ereader is Windows only. You can still plug in your reader into the MAC and just drag and drop the books into the readers storage but you can not use syncronisiation functions which comes with the software. Fortunately it works with Windows running over VM Fusion so no problem for me.
What are your experiences?
Have you come across any kind of ereader? Have you found it usefull?
